Julien Masson

I regard my work as an exploration of line, color and volume.
The process involves superimposing piped lines of paint to produce an intricately woven surface.
New spaces are created within the surface of the canvas, expanding the capacities of the medium in sculptural terms.
Through their construction process, the paintings reveal themselves. The final result can remind us of seismographs or underwater scans but the idea of a landscape is never far away.
