Rachel Schwalm

Rachel Schwalm’s compelling and wholly original artwork defies categorisation.

She produces assemblages which combine qualities of painting and sculpture. She employs mathematical precision, draws, carves, marks and hews stone and inserts her deeply pigmented panels, sometimes using glass, resulting in the enigmatic pieces that seem to glow from inside.

One critic said of her work “Once seen, never forgotten”.  Her work is featured in major collections both in the UK and abroad.
