Max Goodchild
Max, born 1952, studied Fine Art in Liverpool, then Bristo. His earlier work comprised small canvases usually depicting groups of imagine people. These figurative works were exhibited widely in the UK.
In 1995 a sketchbopok of abstract paintings was started and many more followed. These sketches were sometimes the starting point for commissions of abstract 'portraits.
Max produces small works on paper, a selection of which you can see on this site, and also much larger oils on canvas. Max says of his work, 'Their starting place is in mystery. The canvas or paper is like a space I enter. Layers are added and taken away until the painting gives up clues to its story'. Max's work is being bought by an increasing body of discerning collectors.
Oil paintings range from £1,500 - £3,500. The smaller works on paper are framed and are priced from £150 - £300.
